DRF 2026 Review
There was a bit of uncertainty, but thankfully the 2026 Dublin Racing Festival was able to go ahead fully, and, as usual with this meeting, we were treated to plenty of high quality action. It's often considered a stepping stone to Cheltenham, but has become a major festival in its own right. Thanks to a bit of a revival this season from the Gordon Elliott yard, it seemed more competitive than ever, with just 1 odds-on favourite winning. I'll review the best of the action ove

Christmas 2025 Review
Dry weather and big crowds were the key theme over the Christmas period, leading to some decent action on the track. In this lengthy post, I'll look into some of the performances into more depth, using time comparisons at the main meetings. Kempton - 26th December - Chases A memorable renewal of the King George at Kempton on Boxing Day saw The Jukebox Man come out on top in a bunch finish. Weekend Racing Review - Top Two Mile Chasers
It was a weekend where 2 mile chasers were the focus, with top class action from Sandown and Cork. Both tracks had 2 good quality chases ran over the same distance, which I have attempted to review below, using time comparisons between each obstacle. Sandown - Saturday 6th December - Chases The Grade 1 Henry VIII novice chase won by Lulamba was nota

Weekend Racing Review - The Constitution Conundrum
There was a strong sense of deja vu following the Fighting Fifth at Newcastle on Saturday, with Golden Ace, as was the case with her Champion Hurdle victory, capitalising on falls from the favourite and second favourite. Constitution Hill, of course, made his much anticipated return, however succumbed to his third fall in four races. There has been plenty of speculation about where his career goes next, however no one, myself included, would be surprised if this is the end of

Weekend Racing Review - Galloping Gaelic and the Dancing Jukebox
In a week where the temperatures plummeted, the jumps season (finally?) heated up, with plenty of top talent, old favourites and quality races on display. This week's blog will focus on the chase action from Punchestown, Haydock and Ascot, using time comparisons between each race. Punchestown - Sunday 23rd November - Chases Punchestown on Sunday seems like the most appropriate place to start, where we were treated to a thrilling renewal of the John Durkan. Yet again the line
